7 days of books: Day 4 - Cooking

Day 4 and today our focus is on cook books. Authors are Tony Grumley-Grennan and the Two Fat Ladies - Jennifer Paterson and Clarissa Dickson Wright.
The Fat Man's Book of Starters & Snacks

I must admit I don’t have to much info on this book and I am trying to get hold of it. But the title is interesting enough. There are loads of books aimed at women so to see a book aimed at men and possibly large men makes it quite refreshing.
It really is a book on starters and snacks. Lots of easy to make and original recipes for the busy but imaginative cook. So guys if you are looking to prepare sushi, mezze and tapas as well as the more normal meat, fish and vegetable starters then this is your book. Get some friends round, select a combination of snacks and starters and you have a fun dinner party!
Two Fat Ladies Ride Again

Now imagine two large ladies touring the UK in a Triumph motorbike and side car, adventures included - cooking lunch at a motorcycle rally; a formal dinner for the officers of the Hussars regiment; tea for a cricket club; and a cocktail party at the Brazilian Embassy. And so much more!
This book comes from the BBC TV series ‘Two Fat Ladies’ featuring Jennifer Paterson and Clarissa Dickson Wright. Sad to say that, Jennifer the dark haired one of the partnership died of lung cancer in 1999, she was 71. They specialised in easy meals, never bland and not for those who are watching the calories!
