Frisky Fancy Dress offers fantasy up to UK size 40

Over the weekend I received an email from a company in the UK who provide real plus size fancy dress outfits. The Frisky Fancy Dress website stresses 'plus size' quite a bit and actually use plus size people to dress up and show off the costumes. They even have a 'real' plus size guide and if your size is not there then they suggest that, "...just be honest with your measurements and we will do the rest. We can also make our costumes longer, shorter or add extras on...". Considering they go from 16 to 40+ I should think most will find a size that fits.

The outfits look great and ideal for the upcoming party season. Prices may seem to be on the high side but if the quality is there then it will be worth it. The ranges looks good and plenty of pictures.

My favourite so far is the Bishop outfit, only because the guy wearing it looks really silly and seems to be enjoying himself. Sounds perfect right?

Handy bits and pieces that are just your size

Ever tried to find something to help you out about the place but could never find it. Something to sit on or help you in the bathroom? Yeah me too. So it's lucky there are places like MySizeUSA. They took a lot of time to find all the handy stuff. And if they could not find it then they got it made.

Here is some more about them...

Everyday we all create a mental "Itch List" about our interactions with the world around. Whether we vocalize it, write it down, or just accept it we secretly all hope to find something to eliminate that itch.
Often this itch leads us to a Mall, Big and Tall or Plus Sized store. Sometimes a really annoying itch brings us to a Medical Supply House searching for a solution. When the Brick and Mortar stores are exhausted we go online putting in countless search terms and whatever word or words we can think of. We visit countless sites convinced something must exist. We try chat rooms and ask others if they have had any success. Often, we are only met with the all too common empathy phrase;

"I know what you mean, let me know if you find it"

You're not the only person experiencing frustration and start to think maybe the product doesn't exist. If the itch is bad enough the creative side kicks in and you consider inventing it yourself.

This is exactly what led to the creation of MySizeUSA.com

We started with a list of itches we couldn't reach. We asked others and they were quick to share their "Itch List" with us. We went through countless Big and Tall Men's Stores and Woman's Plus sized clothing stores both in person and on line. What we found were great clothes, belts, shoes and accessories but no product to scratch our itch. We went to countless web sites and then to chat rooms and forums. With just a few very simply questions we received an endless stream of great suggestions. When we started receiving orders from specialty stores and individuals before the site opened, we knew we were heading in the right direction.

Verity Plum sale is soon

Verity Plum is having a sale on 27th December but you will have to go to their shop to find out exactly what is on offer. But it is going to be worth it if in one sentence you say 'SizeNet ShowCase' and '25% off' when you get there.

They do have plans to make better use of the Internet but if you are in the vicinity of Knutsford then it will not make any difference to you. Just drop on in between Monday to Saturday 9.30am to 5.00pm and tell them who sent you!

Lil' Mama has got you covered in Oz

I love discovering new places to spend my money for you to check out. So when I got an email from this place in Australia, I was more than happy to take a look. There is only one problem, I may be too late or too early, depends on your point of view. The site is due a revamp soon so I may have to come back for another look and let you know what's different.

Lil' Mama specializes in plus sizes for real women. Being plus sized myself, it's a phrase I like to hear. They have jeans from size 8 to 26 and dresses from size 1. Now before you abandon me and head off looking for sizing charts, they have a size chart with measurements to make sure you get the right fit.

Now as to what you are going to find here, the are quite a few selections to choose from such as; accessories, denim, hosiery (thats stuff for you legs and feet if you are not in the US or Australia), dresses, jackets, pants (translate again – trousers), skirts and tops.

So all in all a good range and with some really pretty items.

The site is run by a lady called Lil' Mama and here is some info about about her...

Mama has worked in the Australian Music and Entertainment industry for well over a decade. With a colourful career starting in marketing as a copywriter, until she got her lucky break, which then led her to work on Australian radio’s biggest commercial network, holding posts such as Executive Producer of Australia’s highest rated radio duo Kyle and Jackie O, as well as a co-host on a number of shows.

In 2005, Mama started Lil’ Mama, after the continuous battle to find sexy, glamorous, quality clothes to fit and flatter her curvy frame.

These days you can find her juggling the fashion label, radio and TV appearances, media consulting, and writing her regular monthly column “Ask Mama” for Plus Model Magazine, and monthly newsletter “L’ Amour D’ Eclat”, as well being a working stylist and media consultant.

Keen to broaden her Australian ties, Lil’ Mama the label, has already successfully debuted in the US, and has big plans for the global market.

To say that this women is qualified is an understatement. Radio host and producer, merchandiser, fashion buyer, make up artist, qualified copywriter...list just goes on!

If you are looking to buy from Lil' Mama then they do ship internationally. Here are the places they can send to;USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Italy, France, Spain, Germany and New Zealand. However do check the postal charges are an extra is charged for.

So now you can abandon me, head off to Lil' mama and tell them I sent you!

Curvy Diva sales and new stock

Worth taking a look at Curvy Diva, they are having a sale at the moment. At least 31 items are up for grabs at reduced prices, a mix of dresses, skirts, jackets and stoles. Not all of them are my taste but one or two grab my attention. One in particular is 'Dangerous Beauty – Ruby'

They also have new cocktail dresses in stock, I think the red Siren dress is quite daring. Anyway head off to Curvy Diva and support this UK store!

Box2 readies for Christmas

The news style Box2 newsletter has dropped in my inbox, announcing a new look to their website. And I must say it is an improvement, a bit easier on the eye. It's always nice to hear of plus size shops doing well and Box2 is now exception. For those who don't know (and I didn't), Box2 is a franchised operation and they letting people know that there are 4 new shops being opened. So if you live in Kendal, Knutsford, Ilkley or Cambridge, then take a peek inside and let us know what you find!

They already have a Christmas catalog which they state, “...is full of stylish evening wear, gorgeous flattering and cosy jumpers, fantastic everyday wear and beautiful coats. And of course we always have a great selection of fabulous accessories.

Keep up the good work ladies!

Bigger Gals Lingerie

Just as a warning, it’s all very saucy, the lingerie at Big Gals Lingerie that is. The reason we are mentioning it, is that they now go up to 12X on many items. All the clothing, if very skimpy can still be described as clothing, is all worn on plus size models. So you are going to get a very good idea of what its going to look like on you. One last warning, you may find your husband leaning over your shoulder!

kingSize for big and tall

While searching around for men’s large clothing I came across KingSize.com, a great site for big and tall sizes, seems to carry sporting related stuff too. Nice to see a well laid out site that carries men clothing. Worth taking a peek now as there are some deals to be had (best one expires on 15th March) and there is a clearance section covering categories such as NFL, casual shirts, casual pants, dress shirts and lots more.

So for our non-American readers who aim to take a look, just remember pants actually means trousers so don’t be put off!
